Theaters could really use a big, crowd-pleasing comedy like this, one that’s meant to be enjoyed with a big group. Still, the film’s warmth and the chemistry between the two leads make it a must-see, worth watching from the comfort of your couch. While Reynolds spends most of the movie trying to escape Soviet territory, Branagh makes you wish you could stay a bit longer.

It has capable actors, tense stretches, and a worthwhile story, but the pieces never form a satisfying whole. For a movie called By Any Means, it’s surprisingly short on reasons to care once the credits roll.

Unfortunately, even the most suspenseful moments in Fall 2: Deadpoint get tripped up by how stupid things get. It’s hard to keep audiences on the edge of their seats when the plot keeps giving them reasons to roll their eyes.
